Talk about the deal of a lifetime...for some. A small, Canadian village called McAdam in New Brunswick is trying to attract some new residents to grow their population and they've devised an awfully creative plan. Sell housing lots for $1. Yes, you read that right.

According to mtlblog, McAdam is offering up fully-serviced plots of land for just a buck on a first come, first serve basis. The plots range in sizes from the smallest (5,300 square feet) to the largest (11,000 square feet). For those looking for a fresh start or to get away from whatever hustle and bustle that is in their lives now, this deal may be too good to pass up.

McAdam currently has roughly 1,200 residents. It sits right along the eastern border with Maine. The closest Maine town to McAdam is Vanceboro, which is home to only about 150 people itself. McAdam's closest Canadian neighbor with any substance is Fredricton, which has the feel and growth numbers similar to Portland here in Maine.

However, if you're thinking of making the jump, you best know there are some provisions to this $1 deal. Some of those provisions include constructing a house on the property you purchase within two years and that the house must comply with all Canadian housing laws. You can read the rest of the provisions here.

Still, even with those requirements, the $1 price tag sounds pretty sweet. So what do you think? Could you make the move?
