A Scientist Says He’s Engineered the Perfect Christmas Song

If you've ever wondered what the perfect Christmas song would sound like, well...here it is.

Dr. Joe Bennett, a musicologist at the Boston Conservatory, studied the lyrics, tempo, vocals, and musical key of 200 of the top Christmas songs to develop what he says is the "perfect Christmas song."

Now I'll admit, I'm a bit of a geek when it comes to science....studying patterns, algorithms, charts, graphs, percentages, etc. But I've always considered music to be an art form that you cannot create through science. To me, the best music comes from a very organic sort of place.

However, I will say that when I listened to this song, I was quite surprised. It's actually better than I thought it would be. It doesn't sound formulaic or contrived, it just sounds like a pretty great Christmas song!
