Yup. In case you thought 2022 was gonna be different.

There have been 11 articles written about people crashing into the Auburn Walmart Pole. Here's the latest...so, that makes it an even dozen articles. Here's the latest and greatest.

Daniel sent a couple of pictures in. The latest happened on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2022. Poor SOB...on Valentine's Day. Cops are the last thing you want to see, unless it's a fantasy role play kinda thing.

But let's trace the sordid history of the now infamous Auburn Walmart Pole!

APRIL 1, 2021

The Auburn Walmart Pole (yes, it's a pronoun and capitalized) started with a vengeance! No one was hurt...not even the pole.

Jeff Parsons wrote a cautionary tale about the yellow pole. At this point, it was bad, but not quite famous. It's looking pretty beat up at this point - but still standing. And still yellow.

This time we knew it was a problem. About weekly someone was smacking into that damn pole! It was determined that it was in a blind spot and well, people couldn't see the damn pole! (Irony Alert - it's in front of the Vision Center)

Now it's getting serious. We were just writing about the pole, but then a real journalist did some investigative reporting to come up with the REASON people were hitting the pole! Mike LaFlamme of the Sun Journal is probably going to win some sort of award for finding the answer!
