York Toll Plaza Replacement Begins in November
A three-year project to move and replace the old York toll booth will begin next month, the Maine Turnpike Authority has announced.
The original toll booths, built in the 1960s, will be torn down and relocated a few miles north to mile 8.8, according to WMTW. Once completed ,the new toll plaza will have 3 E-Z Pass lanes in both directions and separated lanes to the right for paying cash, the news station reported.
Although, I'm really not sure why everyone doesn't have an E-Z Pass yet. C'mon! They make everything easy!
The new toll plaza will cost about $39.5 million and will be done by Reed & Reed General Contractors of Woolwich, according to WMTW.
