Kitten Tossed From Car Window In Maine Is Recovering Nicely
The kitten who was cruelly tossed from some unknown person's car window on Monroe Road in Winterport, Maine earlier this month is on the path to recovery, according to our news partner WMTW. The feline's name is "Hiccup," and he is 9 weeks old. Ridge Runner Veterinary Services' employees chose his cute name. Hiccup's leg was broken from the impact of being thrown onto the ground, and whether or not loses that leg is still up in the air. It may need to be amputated, according to NECN.
A GoFundMe page was created to pay for Hiccup's expenses. It raised $1,520 of its $1,000 goal, more than enough to cover the medical costs. Even so, people continue to donate, and Ridge Runner Veterinary Services says the excess funds will go to the local trap neuter release program to which they provide services.
Hiccup has also found a new home, where he will hopefully be loved and nurtured.
The heartless person who committed this heinous act has not been identified. Authorities are still looking for him or her, as per NECN. Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information is asked to call the Winterport Sheriff’s Department at (800) 660-3398.
