2 Dishes You Need to Try at White Duck Brew Pub in Maine
Okay, if you’re looking for a really good Maine meal that feels like you’re hanging out with friends, let me tell you about White Duck Brew Pub in Winthrop.
I’ve been there, and there are two dishes I would absolutely order again and yes, I have pictures to prove it.
First up: the Pulled Pork or Fish Tacos.
You get three soft tortillas loaded with either house-braised pulled pork or blackened haddock, plus tequila-lime slaw, pickled red onion, cotija cheese, green onion and a smoky ancho pepper aioli.
Basically, there is a LOT happening in one little taco, and somehow it all works. The tacos are also listed as gluten-free, with corn tortillas.

Then there’s the Beer Battered Fish and Chips, which is exactly what I want when I’m craving crispy, golden haddock. Fresh haddock gets the house beer batter treatment and comes with coleslaw, hand-cut fries, tartar sauce and a lemon wedge.

And those fries? Look at them. I don't need to explain myself.
And there's a little local connection here that makes the White Duck even more fun for Mainers.
The restaurant's ownership group includes Travis Mills, along with Zach Stewart, Bill Logan and Andy Ferran.
The group restored the historic property on Route 202 and turned it into the White Duck Brew Pub.
