Wet Seal is one of those stores that I probably should have stopped shopping at when I graduated high school, but it never happened.

You could always count on Wet Seal for a quick going out shirt on the cheap! And where am I supposed to get my 4 dollar leggings now?

Business Insider reported this sad news that Versa Capital (who acquired the brand in 2015) couldn't raise enough funds or find a buyer to keep the brand alive.

The decrease in foot traffic at malls is definitely a big contributer to this closing. Wet Seal isn't the only retailer suffering. The Limited shut down all 250 of its stores recently, and Macy's and Sears also announced mass store closures.

I hope all of those people who lost their jobs due to these abrupt closures find something new and get back on their feet soon.
