We couldn't avoid it forever, ya know. Here comes the first real measurable snowfall of the season for a lot of us in Central Maine.

Now sure, there have been several Central Maine towns that have already received a 'measurable' snowfall this season, but there are several that haven't. It looks like that's all going to change overnight. And while WGME Meteorologist, Charlie Lopresti says this won't be 'big one' by any means, it will still certainly make a mess.

Fortunately, it won't be the morning commute that has the potential to be messy (sorry kids!) but the drive home could certainly be slick depending on how long it takes this little whopper to taper offshore.

Wednesday will start with primarily cloudy skies as the snow showers don't move in till mid-day. Before the storm is over Central Maine can expect to pick up anywhere between 1-3 inches of snow while coastal and southern regions could see closer to 3-5 inches.

Happy winter and drive safely!
