The Weather Forecast For Eclipse Day in Maine Just Took a Good Turn

Maine might be starting down an approaching storm that will give us the most snowfall we've had this winter....but dumping it in spring. It hardly seems fair, but mother nature is a fickle beast who does what she wants when she wants and there's nothing we can do about it.

This storm has also left some doubt as to what is in store for us on Monday, when the first total solar eclipse since 1963 passes over Maine. It's still early, but the latest forecast has some good news.

WMTW 8's latest 8 day forecast is calling for the ridiculous amount of snow, rain and nasty weather from Wednesday night all the way into Saturday before things start to clear up and we start to clean up.

But take a look at Monday, the day of the solar eclipse.

That's mostly sunny at a high of 56. Sure, there may still be some snow on the ground, but at least, as of this writing, the skies will be pretty clear, giving us all a great view of this once in a lifetime celestial event.

Keep in mind though, weather patterns can change over the week, so nothing here is a guarantee. Nothing in weather forecasting is ever a guarantee, but as of right now things are looking pretty good for Monday and the solar eclipse.
