Is there anything better on a starry summer night than a drive-in movie? Yes, a free one.

Pack up some snacks and enjoy a summertime tradition courtesy of The Northwest Brunswick Neighborhood Association and Brunswick Parks and Rec., who are bringing us Movies While You Park. The movies will be shown in the parking lot of the Brunswick Rec Center.

The free movies are July 16th and August 20th, they start at 8:30 but the lot opens at 7:30. Get there early because there are limited amount of spaces to provide social distancing and CDC guidelines will be followed. Rain dates are July 19th and August 23rd.

What you should know before you go:

  • You have to stay inside your care. You can't sit on the hood or roof during the show.
  • Everyone has to be inside a vehicle. You can't walk in with a chair or blanket.
  • Large vehicles should park toward the back of the lot so that others can see the screen.
  • You can't leave and come back. Once you're parked you won't be allowed to re-enter.
  • Bring your own munchies, there is not a concession stand.
  • Plan on bringing your trash back home with you. Trash barrels won't be available, it's a carry in / carry-out situation.
  • If you enter the Recreation Center to use the bathroom you must wear a mask.
  • Smoking and alcohol are not allowed on Brunswick Parks and Rec. property.
  • You can listen to the movie on 90.3 FM.

They haven't announced which movies they will be showing yet. Check their Facebook Page for updates.
