
Yikes! Venomous Snake Found in Bananas at NH Market Basket
Manchester, New Hampshire's Market Basket had an unpleasant surprise in a box of bananas.
According to WMUR, a mildly venomous snake was found in a shipment of bananas at the Manchester Market Basket. The employee that found the snake, was not freaked out at all according to New Hampshire Fish and Game conservation officer Griffin McKeown.

He told News 9 that he spoke to the employee who found the snake in a box of bananas and he was familiar with snakes. What are the odds of that? What exactly is a mildly venomous snake?
What kind of snake was found in a box of bananas at a New Hampshire Market Basket?
It's a cat-eye snake (leptodeira septentrionalis), it's a 'mildly' venomous snake species that are native to Ecuador according to NH Fish and Game. Officer McKeown told WMUR News 9,
In New Hampshire, any venomous snake aside from the hog-nosed snake is illegal to possess.
Well, it's not like it was on purpose. The good news is that this traveling snake wasn't hurt and it was given to Rainforest Reptiles. Officer McKeown said it's the first time they've had a call for a venomous snake - even though it's considered 'mildly' venomous - it's still venomous.

I've heard of spiders in bananas or grapes or really any fruit, but a snake is a new one. I'm glad that the one guy working the Manchester, New Hampshire Market Basket was okay with snakes.
