Someone call Antique Roadshow! Michele and I think we have something that might get us a decent chunk of cash.

I came home one day this week and saw Michele sitting at the kitchen table with her laptop. I thought she was working, but she also had this big empty bowl next to her.

This thing gets used quite often when making pasta salad or mixing any large amounts of ingredients together. It's even been used a few times for popcorn.

It seemed like a pretty basic bowl to me, but Michele found out that these types of bowls are worth a couple hundred dollars.

They were popular in the 1960s and according to hammerandheadband.com, they were made by an enamelware company in Norway the country, not the town in Maine, called Cathrineholm. This bowl is part of their lotus series, named after the lotus leaf patterns.

There's a market on eBay for these things and Michele found one on sale identical to ours except for the color of the leaves, for an asking price of $250!

Michele has had this bowl all throughout the 10 years I have been with her. I'm not sure if it's her mom's or has any sentimental value, but if she's looking up prices, I'm guessing she's looking to sell.

If you have one of the lotus bowls in your cupboard, you might want to think about turning it into some cash. It won't be life-changing money, but have you seen the price of gas? Selling this baby will get you like four tanks!
