I pulled over my car just to snap a picture!

I was in the Dorcas Society Festival parade on Saturday, August 11. I love a parade! They should rename this parade the Candy Parade because kids showed up with bags and Halloween buckets. They are pros, and bags were filled! It's a rookie mistake on my part, and I will bring some candy next year.

The parade was fantastic, and the weather was even more spectacular. It's insane how excited Mainers get this year when the sun comes out, and stays out! It was rain-free! I can't say that about the last parade in Bridgton, where it poured. But again, parade people were just as happy standing and waving in the rain as they were in the sunny weather.

I waved and chatted with people along the parade route that wove through neighborhood and residential streets until we got the the fair. As we were literally ending the parade route, there they were. Two of the best-looking cops I've ever seen. I stopped the car and took their picture because I just thought "man, they are SOOOOOO attractive."

I teased them about how darn good-looking they were. They took it in good nature. I told the crowd as I turned the corner that I was going to make them smile. Mission accomplished. I also told them that I was moving to Buxton and breaking the law. Then as I drove away (I had held up traffic enough), I yelled at them that if they needed a fundraiser, they should do a calendar!

Okay, other Maine towns, can you beat Buxton in the hot cop department? The challenge is on!
