Hearth Market in downtown Portsmouth, New Hampshire, is under fire for dispersing slips to their customers highlighting their "No Loitering" policy. They encourage customers to unplug from devices and enjoy their surroundings in the space and not post up for hours on end doing work.
The center of the Old Port finally has a convenience store again—and no, it’s not your typical corner shop with a standard rack of candy and dusty Advil from 2009. You’ll still find your Bud Light, Ibuprofen, and TP, but things get weird when you hit the snacks. Green Tea Kit Kats? Check. Cucumber and Sea Salt Pringles? Yep. Rice Krispie Treat Peeps? For some reason, yes.
If you think parking in downtown Portland is a nightmare, try being a server. With garages charging up to $50 a day and a strict 2-hour street parking limit, many restaurant workers are losing a chunk of their paycheck just to park for their shift. Something has to change.
If you live in or are from the New England region, then you're already relatively familiar with some amazing cities and towns that are near you. It's one of the reasons why this particular region is such a popular vacation destination all year round (yes, even during the Winter). Perhaps you're already planning your next big road trip. As is the case throughout the New England region, there happen to be several fantastic downtown areas throughout Massachusetts to take in.
This is cool. Portland doesn't see too many of these types of events, so I'm excited about it. Happening conveniently at the Cross Insurance Arena right downtown Portland, is a bunch of unique indoor "extreme" ice races.
