It's not every day that a small boy gets to visit the big city by himself. But that's just what happened years ago to young Ernest R. Hoytt Jr. of Dover, New Hampshire.

Serious upgrades are in the works along the tracks from Haverhill, Massachusetts, all the way up to Brunswick, Maine. Amtrak is dropping over $50 million to install Positive Train Control (PTC), a high-tech system that'll automatically keep trains in check and make trips faster and safer.

Some upgrades are about to get underway, including something called Positive Train Control or PTC for short.

Best part? Those aren't even MY words, they're from another passenger who wasn't even affected by this.
