Puppies Rescued After Skowhegan Woman Arrested For Allegedly Running Illegal Pet Store
Eleven puppies were rescued on Friday from a woman who was selling them illegally in Skowhegan, Maine, according to WMTW News. The puppies reportedly needed medical care and were taken to the Somerset Humane Society.
Nicole Bizier, 32, is facing several charges, including animal cruelty, theft by deception, tampering with public information and illegal operation of a pet store. According to police, Bizier also provided fake veterinary and vaccine records to the people who bought the dogs through her online store.
After receiving complaints from four victims who purchased puppies from Bizier, police launched an undercover investigation that led to her arrest earlier this month, according to WMTW.
