Six Years Ago Maine Got Crushed by a Blizzard
It's name was Nemo and it was a doozy. Six years ago today, February 9, 2013, a blizzard hit Maine that broke several snowfall records.
According to the great folks at the National Weather Service in Gray, Portland received a RECORD-BREAKING 31.9 inches of snow with winds over 50 mph. That is a ton of snow! Seriously, imagine how hight that is!
This is the wackiest weather map we've ever seen!
This time-lapse shows just how quickly the snow piled up! Cars and everything in between were getting buried.
Some more beautiful but bone-chilling video of Nemo.
Let's hope we avoid another big storm this month! Otherwise, get ready to break out the shovels and the snowblowers.
