Scientists Have Discovered A New Species Of Wasp In Maine

(Augusta, Maine) - A University of Maine student made the discovery, while working on her thesis.

Hillary Morin Peterson of Brunswick was working in collaboration with the Maine Forest Service and named the wasp Ormocerus dirigoius, after the Maine State motto.

The wasp is small and does not sting.

Peterson is doing her graduate studies at Penn State.
