Tourists are costing the town of Conway, New Hampshire money, according to the Bangor Daily News. Town manager Tom Holmes reportedly said the people who are vacationing in the town are "acting like sailors on shore leave."

Holmes is quoted by BDN as saying:

Being a Navy veteran, I think I know the reason. It’s as if they were out at sea for a long time, and all of sudden they’re in port and letting off steam.

Holmes said the visitors are not cleaning up after themselves and leaving trash behind in recreational areas. There has also been a reported increase in road rage incidents and illegal fires.

Holmes and U.S. Representative Chris Pappas have both asked for financial assistance from the government for Conway and all of the Granite State, as per the Bangor Daily News.
