Beware Of This Bangor Panhandling Scam

According to the Bangor Area Homeless Shelter's Facebook page, they are warning the public about a panhandling scam. They want you to know this is NOT how they conduct business and not to give money to panhandlers. There are other ways you can help.

Here's their public service announcement:

The Bangor Shelter has received word that someone was spotted in the downtown area with a sign that said they were raising money for the shelter. We NEVER use this as a fundraising method and the person is scamming the public. Please don't give money to panhandlers; instead, send them to us so we can help them out. (We probably already know them.) 😉
