According to News Center Maine, Portland Police responded to a disturbance call at about 7:30 Sunday evening near the area of Prebble street. While officers were on that call they had an altercation with another subject.

Following that altercation, at least three officers were taken to the hospital with what is being described as 'minor injuries'. Portland Police say the officers were taken in, treated and subsequently released. No other information has been made available about the type of injuries sustained.

Following the altercation, a 21-year-old subject was taken into custody and has been charged with felony possession of a firearm, two counts of assault on a police officer, plus one additional assault charge. The identity of the subject was not immediately made public.
