Portland Police are investigating a report of shots fired near the intersection of Johansen St. and Washington Ave.

The call came in at about 4:45 a.m. Tuesday morning and police responded to the scene where they found no injuries or property damage. They did however collect evidence at the scene confirming that a gun was fired in the area. Witnesses police spoke with reported that two dark-colored sedans were seen traveling past the 30 block of Johansen Street toward Washington Avenue.

This isn't the only incident of shots fired in East Deering recently. Back in June, people living at Ocean East Townhomes complex on Coast Lane reported shots were fired into their home. No one was injured but windows were broken.

This most recent incident is still under investigation, but Portland Police are asking for the public's help, by sharing any information about the incident that they may have. You can call Portland Police at (207) 874-8575. If you wish to remain anonymous, there are a couple of options. You can call 207-874-8584 and leave a message on the police department's Crime Tip Line, or you can text the keyword "PPDME" and your message to 847411. Spelled out on your keypad, that's TIP411.
