Is Dave Portnoy the new Guy Fieri?

When Guy Fieri hits the road and visits restaurants across the country on his long-running show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, the aftereffect of that visit is undeniable. Fans of the show and Fieri flock to those restaurants to try the same dishes he did on the show.

Perhaps Barstool Sports owner Dave Portnoy had the same plan in mind all along. Years ago, Portnoy began his "One Bite Pizza Reviews". His goal was to try every pizza slice around the country worth taking a bite of. Another caveat is that Portnoy promised to always to be truthful and honest about each slice.

The concept has caught on, and fans of Portnoy and Barstool eagerly await his next review. Portnoy recently visited Maine to review slices for the very first time. His inaugural review was of Monte's Fine Foods on the corner of Washington and Ocean Avenue. The results? A huge score that's yielded huge interest.

Shared on Facebook by Monte's Fine Foods, the business is grateful that Portnoy's review has put a spotlight on their pizza offerings. Unfortunately, the shocking increase in demand caught them off-guard.

Monte's acknowledged that the sudden increase in demand for their pizza has forced them to make some changes to meet the interest. Monte's will be making more of their signature dough and limiting made-to-order sales throughout the day to better keep up with every single order.

Portnoy isn't done with Maine. He filmed multiple episodes of "One Bite Pizza Reviews" during his visit. Will those episodes have the same effects as the Monte's one? And will Portnoy be back sooner rather than later? Only time will tell.
