POLL RESULTS: Should Maine Rename Columbus Day?
Last week, the city of Bangor announced that it would rename Columbus Day, and celebrate Indigenous Peoples' Day in its place.
We asked you to weigh in on this change, and let us know if you favored changing the commemoration across the entire state. In this online poll, each IP address was able to vote once.
As of 11 p.m. on August 31st, we counted a total of 568 votes, 248 respondents, or 43.6%, said yes. 288 respondents, or 50.7%, said no. About 6% weren't sure.
While this wasn't a scientific poll, do you think it accurately reflects the results of the Maine population? Let us know in the comment section below or on our Facebook page.
