There are plenty of activities to engage in when visiting a beach in Maine. Some people just enjoy a chance to catch some rays of sunshine while hearing the waves crashing in the background. Others partake in activities like swimming or boogie boarding. And of course, there's the old classic of building a sandcastle. Depending on what beach you visit in Maine, you're likely to see some pretty impressive ones. Speaking of impressive, visitors to Higgins Beach in Scarborough last Thursday morning were stunned by what they saw. A huge portion of the beach covered by decoration.

Many people believe a mandala's purpose is to transform a simplistic mind into an enlightened one. In doing so, it will let an individual heal. Perhaps scribing mandalas across Higgins Beach was more a message than it was a time-killing activity.

People are wondering how someone was able to accomplish creating such intricate designs before the tide washed it away. As you can see in the photos, this is no small task and features significant detail.
