Patrick Dempsey’s Role On Grey’s Anatomy Almost Went To Another Actor
Any fan of ABC's medical drama "Grey's Anatomy" knows that Patrick Dempsey, who is from Lewiston, Maine, plays the role of Dr. Derek Shepherd. What you may not know is the role was originally offered to Rob Lowe, according to Business Insider. Lowe turned it down for another TV show on CBS called "Dr. Vegas." It was a flop. We bet he wished he had never said no to what ended up being a major hit show for ABC, with a cult following. With 14 seasons under its belt, "Grey's Anatomy" is the one of the longest-running scripted primetime television series in the U.S. It has been on the air since 2005.
