Patrick Dempsey Among Maine Celebrities to Wish Class of 2020 Well

Maine graduating seniors are having to make the best out of the situation that the CVOID-19 pandemic has dealt them. Graduation ceremonies and festivities will by no means be traditional. Many high schools are finding unique and creative ways to give their seniors the best graduation they can while still making it something to remember.

The Maine Department of Education wanted to help, so they reached out to some very prominent Mainers to give the Class of 2020 a shout out that they won't forget.

The put together a compilation video that opens with Maine CDC director Nirav Shah giving seniors some inspiring words, which he has proven he has quite the talent for in some of his daily coronavirus briefings.

That's followed by some well wishes from six-year-olds, the Class of 2032.

Maine Senators Susan Collins and Angus King along with Representatives Chellie Pingree, Jared Golden and Governor Janet Mills share inspiring words.

And to top it off, two famous Maine born actors take some time to wish the Class of 2020 well. The Breakfast Club and St. Elmo's Fire star Judd Nelson and Grey's Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey.

I'm going to assume the Class of 2020 knows who Patrick Dempsey is but they might need a little education as to who exactly Judd Nelson is. They could ask their parents, but as one last bit of their education, I'd like to introduce the Class of 2020 to the classic 1985 teen comedy-drama The Breakfast Club.

Portland native Judd Neslon plays Bender, the rebellious member of a group of students in for Saturday detention. They're each from different cliques in the school. The geeks, the jocks, the popular girls, the punks and the socially awkward.

The film sends a message that still holds true today. So my advice to the Class of 2020, watch The Breakfast Club.
