So, here we are, just days away from another time change.  These days, with so many devices automatically adjusting their times, it is a lot less of a hassle than it was when we were kids.  When was the last time you saw a VCR (or other device) with a perpetually blinking "12:00", right?

That being said, time change is still a big pain in the butt.  Either we get an extra hour of sleep, but have to deal with it getting darker earlier.  Or, we lose an hour of sleep and get an extra hour of sun in the evening.  You kind of have to take the good with the bad.

When it all comes down to it, there are benefits and drawbacks to each time we change the time.

Why Do We Change Time When We Do?

For decades, maybe as long as we have been doing it, these changes have occurred late Saturday night / early Sunday morning.

This has never really made sense to me.  Why are we messing up a perfectly good weekend by changing the time all around?

I'm sure the logic was to all people to have the weekend in order to get used to the change.  Or, because many people (and all calendars) consider Sunday the first day of the week, the time change starts on the first day of a new week.

Every few years, we discuss ending time change.  However, so far, nothing has become of it.

Cooper's Suggestion On Time Change

Instead of endlessly going back and forth on whether or not we should keep time change, we should make one little change that will make life a lot easier.  Well, I think the change will make things a little easier.

Instead of changing the time on the weekend, let's make the change effective during the work week.  Maybe on Tuesday or Wednesday night.  Sure, it will stink having to adjust our schedule on a Wednesday night, but it will prevent us from having an entire weekend messed up for it.
