Octavia Bishop Turns a Maine Pool Into an Undersea Masterpiece

There is one artist in Maine that has redefined mural art and we are all blown away. 

Her name is Octavia Bishop and when she puts her brush to anything like a canvas or a pool in this case, magic occurs. She is known for her bold and whimsical work. She expresses her love through this and it’s evident.

Octavia has jumped into her most ambitious project yet which is transforming her moms 66,000-gallon pool into an underwater wonderland.  

Wow!

Octavia told me,  

“It's been exhausting but extremely fun and I couldn't be happier that she will have the pool of her dreams.” 

Her piece includes everything from glowing coral reefs, sea creatures, to a giant pink octopus and this is all painted in stunning detail that has got us all wanting to see it in real life.

The colors are perfect, the glow in the dark pigment is so unique, and Octavia- we've got your number, babe. We can't wait to see all of your work. 

Octavia got serious about pursuing art seven years ago, but this mural work really took off for her in 2020 during the pandemic.  

“Art is definitely the thing that makes me happy, I paint animals because I enjoy the symbolism often associated with them. Their fierce hair, fur, scales, and teeth are powerful.” 

The pool was once a part of a campground where they found a black-and-white aerial photo with crowds of people in the pool.  

The family is preparing to fill the pool and celebrate an anniversary party coming up and Octavia is filled with pride. Octavia has brought happiness and life to this pool and everyone who will enjoy it. 

She told me,

"I paint animals because I enjoy the symbolisms often associated with them. There fierce hair, fur, scales & teeth are powerful."
