NH SPCA Rescues 67 Cats from ‘Overrun’ Home (PHOTOS)
The New Hampshire SPCA is putting its new Stratham facility to full use after helping rescue 67 cats from a home in Kensington.
The cats which are all black and white and range in age from young kittens to full grown had overrun the home, according to Steve Sprowl, Field Services Manager for the NH SPCA.
Kensington Police originally asked the SPCA for help to remove 25 cats, a number that quickly grew as more cats came out of hiding.
“The condition of the cats has not been determined as yet. Our veterinarian will be evaluating them all over the next few days.” Sprowl said, adding that they seem friendly.

The cats are being evaluated and treated, according to Sprowl, and will eventually be available for adoption.
The SPCA is working on reconfiguring its new space to care for the large population of cats.
"Our staff is working hard to create new protocols for our expanded spaces, and are now going to be caring for these 67 cats in addition to all of the other animals already in the building," Executive Director Lisa Dennison said.
The SPCA is asking for donations to its SOS Fund to help care for the cats. Gifts to the SOS Fund can also be made by phone at 603-772-2921 x 102 or by mail: New Hampshire SPCA, PO Box 196, Stratham, NH 03885.
The NH SPCA is closed to the public due to the pandemic and could not be reached for additional comment.
