When it comes to getting medical care these days, the options are many, and growing almost monthly. Long gone are the days when you could only go to your local primary care physician.

One of the fastest growing segments of the consumer medical field is the the walk-in, quick care clinics that have popped up all over.

One of the most well represented of these urgent care clinics is ConvenientMD Urgent Care, based in Portsmouth N.H. They have been around since 2017 and currently have six active clinics in Maine in Saco, Brunswick, Bangor, Ellsworth, Portland, and Westbrook.

According to a report by Mainebiz, ConvenientMD has plans to open 3 more clinics in Maine in the coming months. The Augusta location, located at the Turnpike Mall Plaza at 20 Whitten road is being developed quickly. The other two Maine locations coming soon are in Sanford, on Main street, and in Auburn at the Auburndale Shopping Center.

If you have driven by any of the locations, you'll note that they are pretty good size at 5,150 square feet each and they cost about $2,7 million dollars each to get off the ground.

Each of the clinic covers a variety of basic medical treatments and tests.Including COVID-19 walk in testing, common illnesses, and non emergency injuries. They all offer x-ray, lab services, and even some minor surgery.

The beauty of these quick care urgent medical treatment centers is that you can simply walk-in and be seen without an appointment, they also accept most insurances.

Look for more of these private companies to pop up as demand for fast, convenient medical care continues to be on the rise.
