Are you a fan of Chicago hot dogs? If so, you're going to want to head to Windham, Maine, to try out a new hot dog house coming soon, that knows how to make a Chicago hot dog.

Cormier's Hot Dog House is currently under construction at the Windham shopping Center, and is the brainchild of Ryan Cormier of Waterboro.

I did some snooping on Ryan's Facebook page, and I can say the likeness of him in the Cormier's Hot Dog House is spot on.

Since I grew up in Maine and have lived here all my life, my only hot dog of choice is the red, natural casing hot dogs that Jordan's used to make right in Portland. They're long gone, but Kaymen's is pretty decent. So I was curious just how a Chicago is made.

According to The Taste of Chicago, a Chicago Dog comes on a steamed poppy seed bun that holds an all-beef frankfurter. It's topped with yellow mustard, bright green relish, freshly chopped onions, red tomato wedges, a kosher-style pickle spear, a couple of spicy sport peppers (a kind of hot chili pepper), and a dash of celery salt. It sounds pretty good to me, but hold the sport peppers.

Permits have been obtained, and renovations have begun on Cromier's Dog House.

No opening date has been announced yet, but keep your eyes on the Cormier's Dog House Facebook page for updates on the renovation project and an opening day.
