Aging doesn't look like what it used to. 70 is the new 50, and these days, many people are relatively young when they retire and (God willing) have many healthy years ahead of them! Older people want to spend their golden years being active and living their best lives. I'm talking going out to eat with friends, playing golf, spending time with family, soaking up the sun, and strutting their stuff on the pickleball court.

A site called seniorly conducted a study to find out what the most and least fun states for seniors are. They analyzed 11 senior lifestyle factors including average weather, the cost of living, the number of restaurants and golf courses per capita, the size of the senior population, overall health, proximity to airports for family visits, and more.

Despite our frigid temps, four New England states made it in the top 10 most fun states for seniors. Those states are: Vermont, Maine, Connecticut, and New Hampshire. New Hampshire came in at number 9!

The top five are: Florida, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, Hawaii

New Hampshire’s seniors account for 19.3% of the population; the average weather is 46.6°F; there are six golf courses and 238 restaurants per 100,000 residents; and 10% of seniors report feeling lonely or isolated which is relatively low all things considered.

If your plan is channel your inner Blanche and live out your Golden Girls dreams here in the Granite State, it's not a bad place to do it!
