NASCAR Champion to Race at Lee Speedway in New Hampshire
He's the bad boy of NASCAR and a two-time Cup Series Champion. His fans are known as Rowdy Nation, which says a lot about the driver of the #8 3CHI driver.
Kyle Busch drove for Joe Gibbs Racing for years, then went over to Richard Childress Racing in a move that arguably made him a nicer guy and driver. Kyle Busch was one of the most despised drivers, but all that has changed this year. No more M&M sponsor with a bright primary color car; Busch's new sponsor 3CHI is a lean, mean black race machine.
More importantly, Busch loves short-track racing, and with three wins under his belt this season, he is doing something on Friday night that some of the greatest drivers in racing have done. Superstar Kyle Busch is racing in Lee, New Hampshire, on the paved track at Lee USA Speedway.
Busch is in town for the biggest NASCAR weekend in New England at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon. He'll race in the Cup Series on Sunday, July 16, but is opting for some fun too in Lee.
Busch isn't the first Cup Series driver to race at Lee. He follows drivers like John Andretti, Terry Labonte, Richard Petty, Jeff Gordon, Bubba Wallace, Tyler Reddick, and of course, in 1991, The Intimidator (#8 Dale Earnhardt) drove the 3/8 mile oval track.
If you're looking for a fun night of racing, buy tickets at leeusaspeedway.com. Tickets are only $25.
Of course, you always have the Dirt Duels at New Hampshire Motor Speedway the same night, if you prefer dirt. You can get those $25 tickets at nhms.com.
Either way, you can't go wrong. As a race fan, I wish I could be in two places at the same time, because both races will be an awesome way to start the New Hampshire NASCAR weekend of July 14-16.
