My Half Apology to Mainers Getting Gas at a Sam’s Club Last Week
It is annoying when a car is stopped on the road. There are hundreds of reasons why a car is stopped on the side of the road, or worse, on the road. Well, my situation was a bit different, and honestly a bit embarrassing.
I'd like to start off by saying that I do not know a lot about cars, I mean I honestly have to look up what certain lights mean when they pop up on my dash. If you ask me anything about my car, I will most likely just say it has 4 wheels and gets me where I need to go.
Well, I need to apologize for being a pain in the you know what last week while getting gas at the Sam's Club located in Scarborough, ME.
Last week, I chose to fill up my gas tank as I was getting low and was planning on going to Boston for the holidays. Little did I know I would not be taking my car to Boston due to what happened after filling my tank.
After I filled up, I went to go start my car and the engine did not want to turn (I think that's the correct term). My radio came on, and the AC worked, but the car would not start fully. To make matters worse, my wheel was locked.
So yes, there I was sitting at the gas pump for what seemed like an eternity trying to start my car when I noticed two lights on my dashboard that I'd NEVER seen before. Of course, I had to look up the meaning of the lights.
It turns out, they were anti-theft lights. I didn't even know my car had such a thing!
While people honked at me to move, there was literally nothing that I could do other than call AAA and get towed. This is where it gets embarrassing.
After waiting 45 minutes or so (still sitting at the gas pump), AAA finally showed up and immediately was able to start my car. Apparently, there is a way to bypass the anti-theft on your car, which I told was "magic".
To everyone that was trying to get gas that day, I apologize that I made you wait longer for gas as I was literally stuck there. However, the more you know right? I did everything in my power to move my car for you and eventually was able to succeed.
