Maine’s Common Ground Country Fair Is Going Virtual This Year
The Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association (MOFGA) invites you to "hop online instead of into your car" for Unity's annual Common Ground Fair, according to a press release. It says this year's celebration will be virtual, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The fair will feature three days of live programming on Friday, September 25th through Sunday the 27th, 2020. There's going to be a virtual garden parade, a digital exhibition hall, and a poetry grove, along with a marketplace for vendors and fair merchandise. MOFGA is also providing educational activities.
MOFGA wants you to be a part of this year's fair. Share stories and poems you've written about the Common Ground Country Fair, as well as your art and produce. You can do that on their website.
MOFGA posted the following statement on their Facebook page:
We recognize the important role the fair plays in connecting with each other, sharing knowledge, supporting our local economy, creating access to organic food, and extending MOFGA's year round work. These important roles will not be lost and we are hopeful that we can put our efforts into innovative ways to support our community through a virtual fair.
