Maine Woman Run Over By Her Own Vehicle In A Wal-Mart Parking Lot

No, this isn't a headline straight from The Onion, this is a real story that took an unfortunate turn in the parking lot of the Thomaston, Maine Wal-Mart. A 70-year old woman from Owls Head was injured after her own truck ran her over in the parking lot on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Bangor Daily News, the woman had backed her full-sized GMC truck into a parking spot at the Wal-Mart and then exited the vehicle. Police indicate that she then attempted to get back into the vehicle but the truck began moving causing her to fall. The truck's rear wheel then drove over her arm and leg. She rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.

Meanwhile, a passerby managed to stop the vehicle from continuing to move and potentially injuring anyone else or causing damage to property. Police say the entire incident was caught on video by Wal-Mart's surveillance cameras.
