Maine Gas Prices Up Sharply This Week

It sure didn't take long for gas prices to soar past two dollars per gallon. According to the price-monitoring website GasBuddy.com, the average for a gallon of gas in Maine is now at $2.19 per gallon. That is up nine cents per gallon over last week.

Nationally, the average gas price is $2.11, up from $2.04 from last week.

Fourteen states still have an average gas price under $2 per gallon, with Louisiana coming in the lowest at $1.87 per gallon.

Only one reporting gas station is Maine was selling gas for under $2 per gallon. That was in Scarborough at $1.99 per gallon.
