Our food scene just snagged another national spotlight and we’re all here for it!

Two desserts from local spots have been named to The New York Times list of the 14 Best Restaurant Desserts in America.

This is all thanks to those really mysterious undercover food writers that have spent the last year scouring the best tasty, sweet treats in the country.

Who are the winners?

McLoons Lobster Shack in South Thomaston truly impressed food critic, Pete Wells with their iconic blueberry bread pudding.

According to the article, the critic said he loved the mix of wild Maine blueberries and white chocolate chips that are folded into little cubes of leftover lobster roll bread. Wow. That’s genius.

Pete says,
"For a dessert served at a seasonal establishment with no indoor toilets or running water, it's impressively accomplished,"
