Best Cheesesteaks in Lewiston/Auburn, Maine That’ll Take You Back to Philly

There are so many folks in Maine that are from Pennsylvania and as someone who was born there myself, I’ve had my fair share of incredible cheesesteaks.

That greasy, gooey, perfect cheesesteak. And like I said, it’s “cheese steak” not “steak and cheese.”  

Like many others, when you first come to Maine you may not be super optimistic about finding the exact cheesesteak that will live up to what you are used to. But, we are applauding this state because, honey, you done good.  

After much taste testing, for pure science reasons only, I have gathered a list of local spots in Lewiston/Auburn that have done an amazing job with there cheesesteaks.  

Cheesesteak Dreams Come True in Lewiston-Auburn, Maine

First up, our MVP is Mannie’s Philly 2 Me in Lewiston. This is that authentic taste. That real deal, because the owners are from Philly, so they have the magic embedded into there bones for making the best cheesesteak.

Even there About Me section is on point, "Where the taste, smell, and presentations, all meet your expectations the Philadelphia way. Let's Eat!" One bite and I was transported right back to South Street.  

Second up is our beloved, Roy’s All Steak Hamburgers in Auburn. They have that old-school Maine feel but still deliver satisfying and hearty cheesesteaks every time.  

Heathco’s Pizza and Variety is coming in hot in Auburn and deserves a big mention for their generous portions and incredible service. Oh! They also toast their rolls perfectly.  

And we all know Gridiron Restaurant and Sports Pub, the neighborhood sports bar that gives you a solid cheesesteak. I’m not one for offering it in a wrap, but to each their own and they also will give you that option.  

Grecco’s Pizzeria, Lewiston and Pizza Market, Auburn round our the list as a tie. They are budget-friendly and dependable when you are craving that cheesesteak, they’ll deliver for your taste buds.
