Let’s be real, we begged for the snow to go away and Maine says, “fine, now you live on the sun.”

Days like yesterday, June 24th, several local spots in Maine utterly shattered records hitting crazy high temps.

According WMTW, Augusta scorched at 100 and Bangor was roasting at 98 and Fryeburg sizzling at 101 degrees.

When I walked into Monument Square in Portland yesterday, I took a video of the time and temperature building and was flabbergasted.

You know it’s bad when the heat index or the “feels-like” mode is pushing past 105 degrees in Portland, Augusta, and Fryeburg.

Maine Melts: Record-Breaking Heat Turns Vacationland Into a Sauna

The all time high recorded in Maine was 103 back on August 2, 1975. And yesterday as per WMTW, it was the "warmest day since August 12 and high 99 degrees set a June all time record"

The National Weather Service issued an Extreme Heat Warning across the busiest parts of Maine, plus a general Heat Advisory everywhere else.

Sauna Mode was activated here but eventually by 8pm we felt a bit of relief. Portland’s air was in the 80s lowering to mid 70s by early Wednesday.

During a heat wave you need to remember to stay safe because it can be extremely dangerous. Limit your time outdoors and drink as much water as you can, even if you're not thirsty. The air conditioning should be on, but if you don't have one, go to a public place like a library or cooling center.

And most importantly, listen to that beautiful body of yours! If you feel dizzy or nauseous, that could be signs of heat stroke. Lastly, check in on your eldering friends and family members to make sure they are okay.
