Maine is well known statewide for its many agricultural fairs. They have rides and lots of food, but the agricultural fair's main purpose is to promote agricultural education. There are livestock shows, horticultural products, competitions, and agricultural activities for kids.

What really makes agricultural fairs great is that you are very likely to bump into someone you know, especially if the fair is being held in your hometown. It's a giant social gathering and is a lot of fun to be a part of.

Don't Forget the Rides

This is kids' love as well as many adults. The rides.

Each agricultural fair hires a ride company to set up a midway with rides and games and on busy days like weekends, you may have to wait in line a bit longer to ride the tilt-a-hurl....I mean....Tilt-A-Whirl.
