Tom Brady's retirement lasted just 40 days.

The player, considered one of the best in NFL history, is coming out of retirement and will play with the Tampa Bay Buccanneers for the 2022 season. He announced his retirement on Feb. 1.

Brady made the announcement about his return on his social media Sunday night (March 13).

"These past two months I have realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands. That time will come. But it’s not now," Brady wrote in a tweet. "I love my teammates, and I love my supportive family. Without them, none of this is possible. I’m coming back for my 23rd season in Tampa. We have unfinished business. LFG."

The posts were accompanied by photos of his family and another of him on the field.

Brady, 44, has one more year on his NFL contract.

The Buccaneers tweeted out the message "he's baaackkkk" with a video of Brady on the field screaming, "let's go!"

Brady may have dropped a hint Saturday during a conversation with soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo at a Manchester United soccer match. The team is owned by the Glazer family, which also owns the Buccaneers.

Ronaldo in a short video clip asks Brady if he is finished playing. He grimaces as he answers, which cannot be heard clearly.

Some say his response was "that's what I don't know."

It looks like the GOAT isn't done playing football.
