Kevin Federline To Britney Spears: Gimme More Child Support Money… Three Times More!
Kevin Federline is asking for "at least three times the amount" of child support that his ex-wife, Britney Spears, is paying him.
On Tuesday (May 22), Federline’s attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, told Us Weekly that the pop star's legal team have yet to meet the conditions his client, a former backup dancer, is seeking.
"We gave them ample time and opportunity to settle Kevin’s child support modification increase, and they came back with conditions that are not reasonable," Kaplan told the publication, adding that Federline is willing to settle out of court. "It’s their position that they don’t have to turn over Britney’s financial information, including tax returns, which is required under the California family code. It’s not California celebrity code edition — she has to comply."
In February, Federline filed court documents requesting an increase in child support payments from Spears, who reportedly currently pays the DJ $20,000 per month.
Us Weekly reported that Federline "flatly rejected" Spears' initial proposal back in March.
Spears and Federline, who were married between 2004 and 2007, share two children together: Jayden, 11, and Sean Preston, 12. In 2008, Spears lost sole physical and legal custody of the boys.
Editor's note: An earlier version of this article included that Spears pays Federline $3,000 a month for child support. The reported amount is actually $20,000. We regret the error.
