We New Englanders are lucky to live in one of the best parts of the US.

Over the years, countless platforms have directed high praise towards our region. We've received shoutouts for having some of the hottest zip codes, most underrated destinations, best small citiescoolest, coziest, and most charming towns, and so on.

Last year, the website Stacker shared the 50 best places to live in the nation, according to rankings provided by Niche. These results were concluded in part based on "cost of living, educational level of residents, housing, and public schools," according to Stacker. Of these lucky 50 towns, three were in New England – Massachusetts, to be exact.

In the spirit of honesty, this writer is surprised by this. New England is home to a plethora of destination hotspots that tourists flock to every year, so it's a tad strange that the only state in the region to be featured is Massachusetts. But regardless, the Bay State has always had a prominent reputation, so let's learn more about the lucky three communities to be featured on Stacker's list.

#31 – Cambridge, Massachusetts

Coming in at #31 out of 50 is the highly-acclaimed and beautiful town of Cambridge. Home to Harvard University, MIT, and Lesley University, the vibrant community is understandably bustling with college students, and has lots of things for locals and out-of-staters to see and do.

Yours truly isn't familiar with Wayland, but Stacker praised the semi-rural bedroom community for its close proximity to shopping, entertainment, and dining options, as well as the highly-rated schools and tendency to be environmentally conscious.
