Free Family Movies in Augusta, Maine, Are Back for Summer 2023
As parents, we all know the importance of low cost and free family friendly activities. Especially these days! While some would argue that family activities have always been expensive, they are definitely more expensive now, than they were just a few years ago.
That is one of the reasons that we are always on the hunt for cheap things for you to do. We want to help you save some cash!
We were really excited to hear that the Children's Discovery Museum and Augusta Downtown Alliance were partnering again for free movies in downtown Augusta. This year, the majority of the movies will take place on the grass in front of Old Fort Western.
This year's movies are the Peter Pan adventure "Hook" on July 12th, "Airbud The Last Fetch" on July 26th, and Puss In Boots on August 9th.
Keep in mind that the July 26th movie will be done in conjunction with the little league and will take place at Linscott Field.
The rain dates for the movies are July 19th and August 16th
These Wednesday night movies will start between 7:30 and 8:00. The time will shift slightly throughout the season because they want to start the movie as soon as it is dark enough to see it.
The movies are free, but there is a suggested $5 donation.
As in years past, these movies will be shows thanks to the support of J R Davis Entertainment. Other sponsors include O'Connor Auto Park and Bangor Savings Bank.
You can get all the details on the event Facebook page.
