I'm planning a girls day with some friends from college, and the weather forecast is crushing our dreams for a beach day. I consulted my trusty friend, the Internet, for ideas, and stumbled upon this precious candle bar and boutique called Sea Love in Portsmouth.

That is something I've never done – make my own candle! Imagine giving someone a candle as a gift, and saying "I made it myself!" My friends would be shocked and wonder if I'd gone full pioneer and churned my own butter as well. Perhaps that will be next on my list.

But back to Sea Love! They have seven locations across the country (two in Kennebunkport and Freeport, Maine), and offer candle-making classes or "custom scent blending experiences," as they so eloquently put it. They allow you to create your own candle or reed diffuser from your choice of over 100 different fragrance oils.

It's the perfect indoor activity for your next girls night out, bridal shower, bachelorette party, date, mother-daughter day, or solo adventure.
