New Hampshire Loves Roast Beef… Here Are 15 Places You Need to Try
New Hampshire has a thing for roast beef. And I didn't know this was a thing.
Still... roast beef? I like roast beef, so I started at #1 on the list... Beefside in Concord. I got "The Super Colossus". Yes, that's me and that roast beef sandwich is bigger than my head.👇

Okay, New Hampshire. You have my attention.
I asked you where I should go if I wanted the best roast beef sandwich in New Hampshire, and apparently I opened a door I wasn't prepared for.
People have OPINIONS about roast beef.
So I went through the recommendations, and these are 15 New Hampshire roast beef stops that rose to the top of the listener conversation.

1. Beefside — Concord, New Hampshire
Beefside is located at 106 Manchester Street, Concord, NH
If we're starting with the place that generated the most noise from listeners, we're starting in Concord.
Beefside was mentioned over and over and over again.
Some people didn't even feel the need to explain themselves. It was basically:
Beefside. That's it. End of discussion.
Listeners Tammy Williams and Beccie Watson were among those naming Beefside, while another listener included it alongside other Concord-area favorites.
This had to be stop number one on the roast beef tour.
2. Tostimo's Pizza Kitchen — Seabrook & Portsmouth, New Hampshire
Tostimo's is located at 380 Lafayette Road, Seabrook, NH and
2222 Lafayette Road, Portsmouth, NH
Tostimo's came up a LOT.
And this one is particularly convenient for those of us on the Seacoast because there are two locations.
Listeners weren't exactly subtle about it either. Eric Connolly called Tostimo's "unreal," while another listener put both Tostimo's locations among his top three in the entire state.
Tostimo's actually has a whole North Shore Roast Beef section on its menu.
Okay. Now we're talking.
3. Jasmine's Famous Roast Beef & Seafood — Seabrook, New Hampshire
Jasmine's is located at 178 Lafayette Road, Seabrook, NH
Apparently Seabrook is where I'm going when I want to conduct some serious roast beef research.
Jasmine's had a very vocal group of supporters.
Listener Daniel Cunningham simply said, "Jasmine's in Seabrook NH!!" Others specifically praised the North Shore-style approach.
If you're looking for the classic "three-way" experience... roast beef with cheese, mayo and BBQ sauce... this is one of the names that kept coming up.
4. Bentley's Roast Beef — Amherst, New Hampshire
Bentley's is located at 134 NH-101A, Amherst, NH
It's literally called Bentley's Roast Beef.
So expectations are high.
Listeners repeatedly pointed me toward Bentley's in Amherst, and roast beef is very clearly the star here. The sandwiches come in several sizes, including the giant roast beef served on an onion roll.
This sounds like exactly the sort of place that belongs on this mission.
5. Blue House Roast Beef & Pizza — Derry
Blue House is located at 21 Birch Street, Derry, NH
Another place where roast beef is right there in the name.
Several listeners recommended Blue House, including one who admitted that while Massachusetts may still have the best beefs, Blue House in Derry "does a nice job."
I'll take that endorsement.
They offer junior, regular and super hot roast beef sandwiches, with the Super served on an onion roll.

6. Natasha's Sweets & Eats — Rochester
12 Hanson Street, Rochester, NH
Rochester showed up in the conversation thanks to Natasha's.
Multiple listeners specifically recommended it, including Gail Knowlton and Amy Christine Cousins.
And this is exactly why I like asking listeners instead of just Googling "roast beef near me."
Sometimes the best answer isn't the place with ROAST BEEF written across the building.
It's the little place somebody immediately thinks of when you ask.
7. Beef & Ski — North Conway
Beef & Ski is located at 2633 White Mountain Highway, North Conway, NH
This one has some history behind it.
Beef & Ski's owners say the original restaurant was started in North Conway in 1975 by guys who came from Massachusetts' North Shore and wanted to bring that style of roast beef sandwich to the Mount Washington Valley.
They roast top round in-house and serve it with James River BBQ sauce.
Roast beef after hiking in the White Mountains?
I can get behind this.

8. Nick's Place — Raymond, New Hampshire
Nick's Place is located at 171 NH-27, Raymond, NH
Nick's was another name that showed up repeatedly and with some VERY confident supporters.
Their menu even tells you exactly what to do:
Ask for it three-way. BBQ sauce. American cheese. Mayo. Super roast beef on an onion roll.
I feel like I'm slowly learning an entirely new New England language.
9. Greenland Famous Roast Beef & Seafood — Greenland, New Hampshire
Greenland is located at 381 Portsmouth Avenue, Greenland, NH
Several listeners recommended Greenland Famous Roast Beef, including one who simply called it "AMAZING."
I'm noticing a theme.
10. Niko's Pizza & Roast Beef — Pelham, New Hampshire
Niko's is located at 10 Bridge Street, Pelham, NH
Niko's was included among the must-try places by listeners who clearly take this subject very seriously.
And again, the three-way is a big deal here.
This may be the point in my New Hampshire residency where I finally understand that ordering roast beef "three-way" has absolutely nothing to do with what someone unfamiliar with New England might think it means.
11. Grand Slam Pizza — Manchester, New Hampshire
Grand Slam is located at 331 South Mammoth Road, Manchester, NH
Grand Slam came up several times in the listener conversation.
The Manchester shop offers roast beef sandwiches along with a huge pizza-shop menu, and listeners specifically pointed toward Grand Slam when naming their favorite New Hampshire beef spots.
Apparently pizza shops are quietly doing some of the best roast beef work in the state.
12. Jon's Roast Beef & Deli — Laconia, New Hampshire
Jon's is located at 1367 Union Avenue, Laconia, NH
This one is another Lakes Region contender.
Listeners Kearra Patten and Jill Wagner both specifically pointed toward Jon's in Laconia.
This is more of a classic sandwich-shop/deli approach, and roast beef is very much the star of the show.
Put this one on the Lakes Region food-stop list.
13. 7 C's Kitchen & Market — Strafford, New Hampshire
7 C's is located at 564 Province Road, Strafford, NH
This might have had the most detailed listener endorsements.
One listener told us 7 C's cooks its roast beef in-house and makes its own horseradish mayo and BBQ sauce. Another specifically recommended the North Shore Beef served warm on an onion roll with BBQ sauce, mayo and cheese.
That's a pretty convincing argument.
7 C's itself describes the sandwich as a North Shore-style roast beef, and the market sits across from the Bow Lake dam.
Road trip.
14. Lakeside Famous Roast Beef, Pizza & Seafood — Laconia, New Hampshire
Lakeside is located at 1091 Union Avenue, Laconia, NH
As one listener basically pointed out:
"It's in the name."
Another listener who grew up around Massachusetts' North Shore said Lakeside is now his go-to in New Hampshire and specifically noted the owner's North Shore roots.
Laconia may require its own roast beef crawl.
15. Veano's Italian Kitchen — Pembroke, New Hampshire
Veano's is located at 16 Sheep Davis Road, Pembroke, NH
The family-owned restaurant has been serving the Concord area for decades, and roast beef is actually one of the foods it says it's best known for.
One listener grouped Veano's with Beefside and The Gas Lighter when naming the Concord-area roast beef spots worth trying.
That rounds out the Top 15.
And now I have some work to do.
I feel like the only reasonable solution is to start eating my way through this list. One down, 14 to go.
