Stratham, New Hampshire Organization Talks About Death

Have you ever had those big questions roll around in your head maybe after someone passes away or, if you're like me, on a random Tuesday, what happens when we die?  Where did my loved one actually go after they passed? What IS death, exactly?  If so, there's a group out of Stratham, New Hampshire that has events around the Seacoast that you might like to go to.

The Pre-Dead Social Club at 35 Frying Pan Lane, Stratham, New Hampshire organizes events around the Seacoast where you can gather with other people, have drinks (or not) and ask those questions on everyone's mind when we lose someone.  Where did they go?  Is there a heaven?  Why do we have to die, etc., etc.

These questions are hard to answer and it's hard to find anyone who will even talk about it, nevermind have any sort of insight about what happens when you "pass away."

The organization was founded by Laura Cleminson, an "end of life Doula."  Did you know there was such a thing?"  I was today years old when I found out about that.  Laura says, on the website, she considers death as a life skill.

I could not agree more.  I don't know about you, but last I heard we are all going to die.  For me, having this thought in the back of my mind directs my life in just about everything I do.  I think about the people who have passed away that I loved deeply damn near every day.  They are gone from this life, so why would I waste a minute of mine doing something I don't like or not spending time with the people I love?

Laura founded the organization because she believes we have a lot in common.  She says we are all "somewhere between thriving and dying" and we have a lot to learn from one another.

As Tim McGraw sings in that song that makes me teary-eyed every time, "Live Like You Were Dying" and you'll live differently.

What do you think about openly talking about death?  Do you think we should do it more or no?
