We who live in New Hampshire know that North Conway has amazing skiing, (and shopping!) and now, all of America is going to know as well.
USA Today has named North Conway, New Hampshire as the best ski town in the U.S. Here's what they had to say about the town:
Nearly 30 miles of trails welcome snowshoers, cross-country skiers, and fat bikers, while lift-serviced snow tubing offers a gentler thrill. After the adventure, enjoy a vibrant après-ski scene, with dining and cultural experiences that round out the perfect winter escape.

The article also mentions nearby Mount Washington, the tallest peak in New England, can be explored by the Cog Railway. Visitors can also check out the 13 ski areas nearby like Wildcat, Bretton Woods and the several thousand trails all around the White Mountains.
North Conway, New Hampshire Has Amazing Shopping
If you are not a skiier, North Conway still has a lot to offer. The shopping is fabulous with many shops offering unique and hand-made items in the independently owned shops. There is also Settler's Green, which is filled with Brand Name stores at Outlet prices. If you go visit during the holiday season, it is beautifully decorated with frequent visits from the Big Man in the Red Suit. (I'm talking about SANTA!)
Regardless of when and why you visit the White Mountains of New Hampshire, if you are into nature at all, you will be very happy when you arrive. The mountains are breathtaking. North Conway is about 40 minutes from Bretton Woods, home of the Mount Washington Hotel. Stay there if you can, but be warned, you may never want to leave.
